For someone who loves clothes, I don’t pay much attention to baby fashion. I couldn’t tell you the name of that cool indie leggings company on Instagram or really anywhere to buy baby clothes that isn’t the mall or Target. I’ll admit, most of my kid’s wardrobe is an accumulation of grocery trips to Fred Meyer. Apples, check. Diapers, check. Baby shoes… *detour to children’s department dependent on fuss level of the boy.*
That said, I still know cool when I see it. At work, it’s my job to know that the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag was an “it bag” of 2015. As a mom who also Instagrams, I couldn’t help but know that Freshly Picked moccasins are the shoes that all the cool babes wear. So naturally, I wanted some.
Freshly Picked has over half a million IG followers and a line carried in Nordstrom, so this review isn’t going to be groundbreaking. I’m just here to help you answer the big question: Is $60 (sixty!) worth it for baby shoes?
More than cool factor, these shoes are very well made. Rowan has been wearing his for over a month now and I can’t see myself buying any other shoe for daily wear. The leather is nice and thick, the stitching is excellent, they’re easy to slip on, and the soft soles make them easier to walk in. Blah blah blah, I’m sure thousands of other reviews will say all of these things. But seriously, $60 on baby shoes?
Freshly Picked has spawned probably hundreds of moccasin copycats. I’ve even purchased (and returned) a “copycat” pair… $25 a pair was just so much more on my level. But those weren’t remotely as beautiful and the leather wasn’t nearly as sturdy (or real?). It’s like the Mansur Gavriel bag… nothing else is quite the same. My bottom line: If you don’t want to spend sixty bucks, then don’t. But if you do, you won’t regret it.

DISCLOSURE: I received a free pair of Freshly Picked moccs for the purpose of this review and I’ll be giving a pair away on my Instagram account. Rowan– please don’t hate me when you’re older for having you model these on my blog. You got a kick ass pair of shoes out of it, so we’re cool right?
