The new RH Seattle, The Gallery at University Village is here and your design education is about to begin. RH, if you’re unfamiliar, is the sleek new moniker for Restoration Hardware, the luxury home design retailer. But typical retail it is not.
The massive four-story building felt campus-like as my private tour shuffled and paused from one room to the next. Our interior designer turned tour guide excitedly detailed the styled nooks of the gallery, showing off real-time capsules of pristine design. For instance, she noted the balance of each room, and how it’s a good practice to design from the foundation of a space. Start with textiles and rugs and build up from there. Maybe you knew that, but design class is still in session for me.
In fact, I’m going to publish this post, and then pin these photos to my home decor Pinterest board to study thoroughly. And then I’ll visit again soon to take in the art on the walls, delicious bling of the epic chandelier staircase, and collection of legendary coffee table books.
